The Municipality of Lomas de Zamora continues with the 'Community Pavers' program, a public policy aimed at preserving the historical identity of the neighborhoods and improving circulation and road safety on the cobblestone streets of the district, where there are more than 400 cobblestone blocks. According to what was learned by the Argentine News Agency, the plan includes works of granite cladding and artisanal restoration of the cobblestone, with the objective of conserving the heritage value of these urban layouts, while reinforcing the durability of the roadway and the transit for cars, motorcycles, and pedestrians. In recent weeks, municipal crews carried out interventions in different points of Temperley, with tasks on Lucio V. López and Cerrito, Gallardo between July 14th and Esmeralda, and Bernardo de Yrigoyen between Cerrito and Juncal, according to the official report. Additionally, in Banfield, restoration works of the cobblestone were carried out at the intersection of Quintana and Cabrera, within the same program. From the Municipality, they explained that the works consist of the lifting of the deteriorated cobblestone, the repair of the affected sector, and the relocation of the original pavers, in a procedure that seeks to intervene without altering the urban environment.
